AIR LOGIC POWER SYSTEMS AND AMERICHEM JOIN NAPCOR

New members are first to join since NAPCOR office relocation to Sonoma, California

Sonoma, California (March 2005) --  Air Logic Power Systems, Inc. and Americhem, Inc. have joined the National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR), the trade association for the PET plastic industry in the United States and Canada.

Joining NAPCOR as a supplier member, Air Logic Power Systems (ALPS) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was formed in 1974 and is the leading American manufacturer of on-line leak detection equipment for the plastic container manufacturing industry.

Also joining as a supplier member, Americhem is an international custom color masterbatch producer. For over 40 years, the Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio-based Americhem has manufactured custom color concentrates, additive concentrates and specialty dispersions for the plastics industry.

"NAPCOR is pleased to welcome both ALPS and Americhem as our newest members,” said NAPCOR Executive Director Dennis Sabourin. "We welcome the industry perspectives these companies will bring to the NAPCOR table and look forward to long and productive relationships with both.”

The new members are the first to join the organization since NAPCOR moved its offices earlier this year from Charlotte, North Carolina to Sonoma, California. NAPCOR management staff now includes Executive Director Dennis Sabourin, Technical Director Michael Schedler, and Communications Director Kate Eagles.

Sabourin comes to NAPCOR after a 48-year career in the textile, chemical and related industries. The last 20 years of his career were spent with Wellman, Inc., the largest recycler of post consumer plastics in the world, and manufacturer of polyester fiber and PET resin for packaging. His career included 12 years as Wellman’s Vice President of Post Consumer Procurement & Recycling Industry Affairs.

“I am excited about my association with NAPCOR and my ability to call upon my years of experience in the PET recycling industry,” said Sabourin.  “NAPCOR remains committed to the recycling and sustainability of the PET package.”

Michael Schedler continues with NAPCOR as Technical Director. Schedler joined NAPCOR in 1994 and provides technical expertise and assistance to the PET recycling industry as part of NAPCOR’s effort to promote and defend PET, and to increase and improve PET recycling.  He also coordinates the Association’s technical programs which are focused on researching and developing innovative methods to facilitate the collection and recycling of post consumer PET. Schedler brings over 30 years experience in the recycling industry, both with NAPCOR and in his prior role with the South Bronx 2000 Local Development Corporation, a neighborhood development program.

Also new to NAPCOR, Kate Eagles will focus on communications activity via the Sonoma office. Eagles has over 15 years of marketing and public relations experience, primarily in the food and beverage industries.

In its new northern California location, NAPCOR is operating under contract with Moore Recycling Associates, a recycling consulting and management firm that has worked with the plastics recycling industry since 1989.

Founded in 1987, NAPCOR is the trade association for the PET plastic industry in the United States and Canada. The Association’s mission is to facilitate PET plastic recycling and to promote and defend the usage of PET packaging. NAPCOR is committed to being the credible voice and champion of the PET industry, to facilitate solutions to PET recycling, and to provide education on the benefits of PET packaging.
